Lucy is passionate about supporting and inspiring people to achieve their personal goals.
She has over twenty years experience in the field of Expedition Medicine and Global Health and established her niche working with those facing physical or mental challenges.
When in the UK Lucy works clinically as an Emergency Medicine doctor, GP, and as a volunteer doctor for the Devon Air Ambulance.
In her academic career she is Associate Professor and Programme Lead for the Global Health and Leadership Masters at Plymouth University.
She completed a post graduate qualification in International Health Consultancy at the Liverpool school of Tropical Medicine and works with governments and NGOs to achieve a holistic approach to health system strengthening, locally and globally. Having founded the charity Future health Africa in 2011 she completed a decade as chair and then trustee of the charity, subsequently leading the Community health workstream, whilst also supporting the development of Global Emergency Medicine fellowships.
Lucy is the senior medical advisor for British Exploring Society, medical technical advisor for Northern Rangelands Trust, and an elected member of the Royal Geographical Society Medical Cell. Lucy has worked with numerous production companies including BBC, Silverback and Humblebee.

Anna is an Emergency Medicine and Trauma Consultant at Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro.
Through participating in one of the earliest formal wilderness medicine courses in 2002, Anna was inspired by the challenges of working in remote environments and became determined to combine work as a hospital emergency physician with working in the field as an expedition medic and pre-hospital doctor.
During her training Anna worked in Australia with the Royal Flying Doctors aeromedical retrieval service and she was the first doctor to fly regularly with the Cornwall Air Ambulance who she also provides with training and clinical governance.
Since 2004 she has travelled as an expedition and event medic to Peru, China, Iceland, Tanzania, Cambodia, Vietnam, Brazil, and Morocco with charity groups striving to push themselves to achieve a challenge: seeing people achieve things through team that they didn’t think they could do is Anna’s chief motivation.
Anna was the Olympic torch doctor for the team of 350 people who were involved in the extraordinary procession leading up to London 2012.
Anna loves the mountains and has taken part in numerous expeditions, including to Aconcagua and in 2007 to the summit of Mount Everest!

Lucy is a consultant stroke physician at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust. She was Clinical Lead for Stroke 2015-2018, and Clinical Director for Specialty Medicine 2017-2020 including playing a lead role in the Trust response to the coronavirus pandemic. Lucy believes in education and empowerment to develop individuals and teams, thereby promoting the provision of excellent, evidence-based healthcare.
Lucy is UK co-lead for Wessex Global Stroke Partnerships which supports the development of stroke services to improve patient care, with partners across sub-Saharan Africa. The partnership facilitated the opening of the first dedicated stroke unit in West Africa in 2014 and now focuses on disseminating skills and knowledge both nationally and internationally. WGSP is currently developing online modules in order to make stroke care training available globally via wgstroke.org
As a keen mountaineer, ultrarunner, and outdoor enthusiast Lucy believes that greater potential can be achieved through connecting with nature, appreciating and redefining capability through adventure.

BMBS MSC
Imara is passionate about global health having lived in seven countries during her childhood: born in Kenya and subsequently moving to Italy, the USA, Sudan, Laos, Thailand and the UK. She is determined to use her medical training to help improve healthcare across the globe and to encourage others to do the same!
Imara completed a MSc in Nutrition for Global Health at LSHTM, with a focus on child and maternal undernutrition, and was a Bristol Global Emergency Medicine fellow in 2021-22 spending two months in an ED in Nanyuki, Kenya. She has since been back to North-Eastern Kenya to scope health needs in remote communities and organise medical electives in collaboration with the NGO Northern Rangelands Trust, Dharura Charity and Endeavour Medical.
Her happy place is by the sea with a love for swimming, diving, and sailing! Expeditions include a Trans-Atlantic sail and a medic for the BBC on an upcoming production filmed in the Bahamas.

Holly is an anaesthetics trainee, spreading her career so far across the UK. From Jersey in the Channel Islands to a year in the Southern Alps and now the West of Scotland.
She has been involved in expeditions in the rainforest, with IPPG at altitude in the Himalayas and supported many in their impressive endeavours running ultras in austere environments.
She has volunteered in both a medical and leadership capacity in the European refugee camps and has a strong interest in making medical partnerships in this setting bidirectionally beneficial.
When not working she is found racing triathlon for GB or hunting out new ski touring routes.

MBBS BSC MRCP PGCERT (MED. ED.)
Ben is a rheumatology registrar based in North London who escapes the smoky confines of the capital as often as he can to adventure home and abroad in both a personal and professional capacity. With 15 years of experience in alpine mountaineering, his primary interest is in the high-altitude arena and in his free time he can most often be found hiking, climbing or ski touring.
Whilst at university, he assisted in MRI studies investigating high altitude cerebral oedema with the Centre of Altitude, Space and Extreme Environment (CASE) group in University College London and wrote his undergraduate thesis on the pathophysiology of acute mountain sickness. Since qualifying, he has gone on to work as a doctor with charity and youth groups in locations including Kilimanjaro and the Yukon.
He is a passionate educator and when not teaching with Endeavour, he is also involved in postgraduate assessment and medical education within a more conventional medical setting.

Becky is an adventurous soul with a love for Prehospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) and teaching. Inspired by her trauma elective in Johannesburg and a placement with the Essex and Hertfordshire Air Ambulance, she has embarked on pursuing a career that combines remote medicine/prehospital care with travel.
As a Clinical Fellow, Becky immersed herself in the mountains of Eryri while building on her skills in Emergency Medicine/Critical Care. Following this she undertook an 18 month deployment as a medical officer for the British Antarctic Survey; including time as the ship’s doctor on the RSS Sir David Attenborough (fondly known as BoatyMcboatface) and spending a whole polar winter at the remote research station of Rothera.
Now, Becky sets her sights on the wild Scottish Highlands with the aim of pursuing the Diploma of Mountain Medicine alongside her clinical and expedition work. Outside of this, she is a keen hiker and climber and is soon to complete her Summer Mountain Leader qualification.

Zoë is a consultant paediatric anaesthetist at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Her expedition medical work has taken her to Antarctica, the Himalayas, Peruvian Amazon, Kenya and Arctic Svalbard. She has a longstanding interest in improving delivery of anaesthesia in low and middle-income countries which has included volunteering as a Visiting Lecturer in Ethiopia, running anaesthetic conferences in West Africa and working with Operation Smile. Her career path has encompassed extensive trauma and aeromedical work in South Africa and with AMREF’s Flying Doctor service in Kenya. Personal exploration has involved trans-Atlantic sailing, channel swimming, exploring Kyrgyzstan and ski-mountaineering in Spitsbergen.

Suzy is a consultant in Emergency Medicine at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth. She instructs on APLS, is the ED QI lead and is passionate about improving staff well-being. She is the LMA for Plymouth RNLI and also volunteers for Festival Medical Services.
Suzy lives on the edge of Dartmoor with her 2 girls & husband. She spends her time off cycling, running, swimming ( badly) and crewing on Plymouth Sound.
Suzy and 3 friends set up skiedconference.com, which has been running since 2017. She is often forced into being single hand support crew for her husband on long distance running events!

Jon works as a GP in Chepstow and a Specialty Doctor in the Emergency Department of Bristol Royal Infirmary. He has been on many expeditions as a doctor and or leader across many different environments – from the deserts of Namibia, Sinai and Northern Kenya to the jungles of Sulawesi, Belize, Thailand and Ecuador. He loves the mountains and has undertaken many high altitude climbs and treks to Nepal, Greenland, Pakistan, Iceland, Morocco, East Africa and the Andes. Jon is an International Mountain Leader, a member of the Alpine Club and has taught on the UK Diploma in Mountain Medicine since 2004. In 2016 Jon became a Director of the International Diploma in Expedition and Wilderness Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
Jon is medical consultant to World Challenge Expeditions and has taught about expedition medicine since 1991. He is the lead editor of the Oxford Handbook of Expedition and Wilderness Medicine and a longstanding member of the Royal Geographical Society Medical Cell.
Jon is the medical officer for Severn Area Rescue Association.

Iain is interested in global health and expedition medicine and currently works as a Senior Clinical Fellow in Global Health/Expedition Medicine at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. He completed an MSc in Global Health and Management, with an interest in development, and a Diploma in Tropical Medicine.
Iain has worked with NGOs in Kenya and South Africa, with a focus on One Health through working with Conservation groups. He has also been on expeditions in Tanzania and Ethiopia, with an upcoming expedition planned for a tall ship based around the UK.
Through his work with Endeavour Iain has taught remote and rural medicine skills to junior doctors, mountain leaders and to film crews working with the BBC.

Dave is a paramedic with over 20 years experience in a variety of frontline NHS roles, including as a Hazardous Area Response Team operative required to deliver care in a range of hostile environments working with various rescue and emergency services. Dave spent eight years as a critical care paramedic with the Devon Air Ambulance, where he was also the clinical manager for the last three.
Dave has recently started a new challenge working in Integrated and Urgent Care in Cornwall. He holds an MSc in Prehospital Critical Care Retrieval and Transfer, the Diploma in Immediate Medical Care, and the Diploma to Teach in the lifelong learning sector.
Dave is passionate about education and his teaching experiences have ranged from taking foundation degree students through overnight exercises on Dartmoor to delivering pre-deployment courses for government agencies. He lectures for Plymouth University on both Bsc and Msc programmes, has contributed to FOAM resources such as PHEMcast and recently edited part of the upcoming edition of the ABC of Prehospital Emergency Medicine.

Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Bella has always loved the outdoors and adventure and now she is currently fascinated by all things Global Health. She has worked up and down the UK, from Shetland as a medical student, to Cornwall, where she completed a Clinical Fellow in Global Health and Emergency Medicine. Along the way, she has spent time in Peru volunteering and providing healthcare in prisons and with Venezuelan refugees. She has worked in Kenya on a couple of occasions and is currently part of a small team in South Africa looking at how Conservation can be used to improve healthcare for local communities. In August she will be moving to Panama for 6 months to help provide medical care to remote and indigenous communities.
Bella has a certificate in Climate Change in Healthcare from Yale University and a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. She is excited about working with Endeavour and hopes that the current and future generations of healthcare professionals can use adventure and nature as a means to stay passionate about their careers!

Nathan is an expedition doctor, climate advocate and photographer from London. He has provided medical support to numerous international expeditions, from high altitude mountaineering in the Himalayas, to providing support as a PADI Divemaster and dive doctor to remote parts of West Papua. His particular interest lies in supporting expeditions with an environmental focus. Highlights include working as the doctor and photographer for a multi-national diving and ecology research expedition to the Chagos Archipelago, and working as the doctor and assistant photographer for a National Geographic research expedition to unexplored parts of the North Greenland coastline. Nathan is also the founder of Eco Medics, a non-profit startup that aims to put healthcare professionals at the forefront of the response to the climate crisis.

Shona is an Emergency Medicine trainee in the South West. She’s worked on expeditions in the mountains, jungle, desert and at sea and supported sports events around Europe. She led the APEX 4 international altitude research trip and has volunteered on projects in the Philippines, India and Uganda. Now living a UK version of her NZ lifestyle she’s often micro-adventuring with spritely dips at any opportunity or planning trips to the mountains. Writer, editor and now Head of Operations at award-winning magazine Adventure Medic, she looks forward to hearing your tales.

BMBS BA MPHIL MA (CANTAB)
Lou is an Anaesthetics Registrar and PADI Divemaster who has worked extensively supporting and leading remote dive expeditions. In 2022 she completed a Fellowship at the Dive Diseases Research Centre, Plymouth which included being the first point of call for dive emergencies across the UK, as well as delivering medical training for offshore saturation divers and superyacht crews.
Her previous roles include working as the manager of a dive research boat surveying the Sulawesi Tenggara Province in Indonesia whilst teaching local and international students about sustainable marine conservation; working with displaced Burmese migrants in Thailand; researching child labour in the Bolivian altiplano; providing medical support for a marathon in Nepal.
Lou is passionate about teaching and has designed and delivered a Medicine summer camp which now runs annually for international students in Oxford. She is an ALS and EPALS instructor for RCUK.

Jonny has always spent most of his time in the hills and mountains: running, climbing, skiing and cycling. Since qualifying as a doctor Jonny has been combining this passion for the outdoors with his academic interests in pre-hospital medicine, trauma, and expedition medicine.
He has led as a medic on expeditions to Peru, Tanzania and Nepal, developing a keen interest in altitude medicine.
He is currently working as a clinical fellow in Perioperative Medicine alongside completing the Diploma in Mountain Medicine.
In the next year he will be working as the medic for an expedition to Island Peak.

I am an expedition doctor specialising in Polar and Mountain medicine. I have worked in the Himalayas, the Andes and for five seasons in Antarctica. I have also worked as a mountain guide in the greater ranges on and off for over twenty years.
Amongst other expeditions I have recently completed a 2000km traverse of Greenland by snow-kite. With my family I spent a year driving overland from Cornwall to Cape Town in our decrepit 26 year old land cruiser.
In the UK I work as a locumGP and Emergency Medicine. I hold the post-graduate UK UIAA/ICAR/ISMM Diploma in Mountain Medicine and am a member of the teaching faculty. I was the doctor and medical trustee for the Cornwall Search and Rescue Team for several years.

After a successful career as an Emergency Department Charge Nurse/Nurse Practitioner here in the UK and overseas, James left the NHS to combine previous training and experience and create an independent travel clinic. The Exeter Travel Clinic supports a wide range of companies, charities, individuals and educational establishments.
In conjunction with his colleague Dr Jon Dallimore, five years ago James co-wrote and launched the UKs first post-graduate Diploma in Expedition and Wilderness Medicine. This was based on the British Medical Journal award-winning Oxford Handbook of Expedition and Wilderness Medicine, of which James is a co-editor. James is a contributing author to Paul Auerbach’s definitive textbook ‘Wilderness Medicine’.
Following the successful completion of an MSc in Global Health from the University of Plymouth, James has been involved in overseas projects delivering healthcare education in low/middle income countries, continuing to write articles on areas such as high-altitude, expedition, wilderness and travel medicine. Most recently he has been a centre lead for the international BRACE trial, investigating links between the BCG vaccine and protection against Covid-19.
James’ expeditions have taken him from the jungles of Bolivia, Brazil and Papua New Guinea, to the mountains of Nepal and the length of Africa. He has worked with production companies such as the BBC Natural History Department and National Geographic, private companies, schools and charities.
As a Fellow of the Faculty of Travel Medicine James sits on the Executive committee, where he has been involved in the writing of national standards guidelines for the practice of travel medicine. He is a Fellow and member of the Royal Geographical Society Medical Cell, former Secretary of the British Global and Travel Health Association and consults for a number of UK expedition companies.

Beth is a physician associate by training with a background in clinical education.
Beth completed an undergraduate degree in Physiological Sciences at the University of Bristol before embarking on a PgDip in Physician Associate studies at the University of Plymouth, graduating in 2017. She has recently completed an MSc top up with the University of Birmingham, focussing on the role of simulation in medical education. Over the last few years, Beth has worked as a lecturer in clinical education at the University of Plymouth, gaining associate fellowship with the Higher Education Academy. She is also Lead Physician Associate at Yeovil District Hospital and works in acute medicine.
In her spare time Beth is a keen climber, cyclist, and spent last winter skiing in the French Alps.

Rin is both a registered sports dietitian specialising in endurance and expedition nutrition and a HCPC registered paramedic. She has a love for the outdoors and over the years has undertaken her own expeditions from the polar regions to the Himalayas and the tropics of Borneo as well as being a keen runner which has taken her on many a long jaunt including the marathon des sables. This combination of sports nutrition theory, logistics and practical application in the field is what sets Rin apart and has led her to work with ultra-runners, ocean rowers and polar explorers including the Ice Maidens who were the first all female team to cross antarctica in 2018 and finished in top physical condition. Her work with the team has since been published in multiple journals and she has both written and presented on various sports nutrition topics to teams, conferences and budding future explorers. Her passion to enable athletes and explorers achieve their goals is her main drive, whilst working pre-hospitally and of course practicing what she preaches.

Sophie is a GP with special interests in mental health and remote and wilderness medicine. She has supported a number of expeditions as a doctor, most recently accompanying groups to Antarctica and Costa Rica onboard traditional Tall Ships. Alongside clinical work, Sophie works for the organisation 4 Mental Health Ltd. as a Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Response trainer, delivering teaching to other health and allied health professionals internationally. She also conducts her own research into differing global approaches to emotional wellbeing, most recently through a Churchill Fellowship exploring indigenous attitudes to mental health in the US. Findings from this study have informed the development of a retreat programme supporting health and social care workers suffering from pandemic-related ‘burnout’. Sophie also uses her research and field experiences to inform her teaching on mental health in remote environments, seeking to provide practical and context-specific guidance to expeditions.
When not in the office, Sophie can usually be found behind her camera, hiking a mountain, dipping in cold water or playing the ukulele!

Alex is a is a winter mountaineering, ski touring and mountain bike instructor working for various organisations including Glenmore Lodge. Holds the highest UK instructional qualifications in winter climbing, mountaineering and ski mountaineering, the Winter Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor and Mountain Ski Leader.
Currently based in the Scottish Highlands, mixing a full time role as a Clinical Fellow in Intensive Care, Inverness with freelance instructional work. Previously Alex has worked in small Scottish Rural General Hospitals.
Other clinical highlights were a ski elective on the South Island in New Zealand, based on the ski fields around Queenstown.
Led several expeditions for Outlook Expeditions and World Challenge varying from Malawi to Bolivia, with personal first ascents of mountains in Kyrgyzstan.

Francis is an ACCS anaesthetics trainee based in southwest England. During a recent expedition medicine role at Bristol Royal Infirmary, Francis enhanced his academic interest in altitude and expedition medicine while working on trips up Kilimanjaro, cycling around South Africa, ski touring in the French Alps, trekking to Everest Base Camp, and finally summitting Island Peak in Nepal.
He brings his experience as a qualified Physiotherapist into the remote medicine sector through offering a dual role as doctor and physio to promote the health of expedition participants. He also uses these same skills to provide pre-hospital medical care at major UK festivals each year.
Francis is passionate about the value of expedition medicine and its ability to instil passion, resilience and leadership skills in the NHS workforce. He was awarded HEE funding to run the first Endeavour ‘Remote and Restorative Medicine’ courses for junior doctors in the South West. He also leads a student selected component for Exeter University medical students interested in expeditions.

Alex is an Emergency Medicine registrar in Severn who believes in taking the road less travelled. She is passionate about expedition medicine and global health and recently returned from working as a global health fellow in rural South Africa (and living in a game reserve!) She has also worked as an expedition medicine fellow and in New Zealand.
She holds qualifications in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, Expedition and Wilderness Medicine, Global Health, and Remote Healthcare, and plotting adventures around even the tightest medical roster. She co-authored the chapter in the oxford handbook of sports medicine on expedition medicine, and edits for the website Adventure Medic.
Alex has been teaching as a Wilderness Medicine instructor for 5 years teaching fellow medics, the local mountain rescue service, and lay people.
She has accompanied expeditions on all seven continents. Destinations include Kilimanjaro, Antarctica, the Amazon, Costa Rica, Fiji, the Great Wall of China and most recently skiing in Greenland with youth development charity Polar Academy.
She has a passion for the outdoors and holds Summer Mountain Leader, Advanced PADI, and Competent Crew qualifications. She is an aspiring ski tourer, climber and mountain biker.

Annie is a two-time World Champion and Olympic silver medallist rower. Following an eight-year career as an elite athlete, during which she went to two Olympic Games (Beijing 2008 and London 2012), she wrote Mind Games: Determination, Doubt and Lucky Socks – An Insider’s Guide to the Psychology of Elite Athletes, winner of the 2020 British Sport Book Awards. She explores the psychology of elite sport through her lived experience and the research for her book, in particular how athletes train their mental skills in exactly the same way that they train their physical skills. She believes that although there are universal principles for how we approach physical training, mental training and performance is unique and bespoke to each individual.

Jack is a Cheltenham-based GP and ED Doctor with a special interest in expedition, remote and wilderness medicine. He endeavours to combine his career with his love for adventure, travel and the natural world.
Growing up in Kenya helped to foster his passion for wildlife and wild places. His adventurous spirit was born whilst summiting Mt Kenya on a primary school trip and, with this, came the curse of eternal wanderlust! He is currently involved in the design of an exciting new Endeavour safari skills course with the aim of sharing his obsession for African adventure with others!
Jack was motivated to study medicine after witnessing health and social inequalities as a child in East Africa. This also fostered a keen interest in Global Health. In 2017 he worked for a year in a remote hospital on the border between South Africa and Mozambique. The range of emergency, evacuation and remote medical skills he learnt and developed have proved invaluable in both expedition medicine and during his regular work on remote Scottish Islands such as Shetland and the Outer Hebrides.
His personal travel has taken him to over 100 countries including around the world twice. Driving from the UK to Mongolia, seeing gorillas in the DRC, living and working in New Zealand and hiking in Antarctic Chile.

Nics has been a doctor in the regular army for over 10 years, having been deployed to many remote locations with the military such as Kenya, Canada, Norway, Antarctica, Iraq. Since qualifying as a GP in 2019, she has served with some extreme remote teams, training the medics in advance and providing reachback service.
Since completing the diploma in mountain medicine and medical care in catastrophes, she has recently established a military expedition medicine advisory group. Nics is passionate about using medical knowledge to prevent health issues arising in remote locations, but still having the skills to treat when required; something that has proven invaluable on many mountainous expeditions.
Her unhealthy enthusiasm for cross country skiing and cold locations ultimately led her to creating the first all female team to cross Antarctica in 2018. Since then, Nics’ passions for cold survival and cold conditions has continued to grow, including research and advising other polar teams.

Jon is an Anaesthetics Registrar working in London. Jon has completed an International Diploma in Expedition and Wilderness Medicine in 2019.
His favourite outdoors experiences have been: high speed drift dives whilst gaining his Advanced PADI in Komodo, kitesurfing the west coast of Australia; to cycling in the French Alps, trekking up Mera Peak in Nepal, and ski touring by the fjords in Northern Norway.
As well as broad practical experience, Jon has published with the BMJ on Acetazolamide prescription, as well as with the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
Jon balances his clinical career with a career in photography, in which he has been sponsored by Nikon Europe. He combines his love of photography with professional work undertaken in health care related photo-documentary and education, as well as adventure photography. Most recently his work has been published with The Guardian, and he is currently working as Director of Media and Photography on another international online Anaesthetics course being created by a group of central London teaching hospitals.

Ffyon is a specialty doctor in emergency medicine working in Hereford county hospital, currently working towards a CESR CCT.
She is a mountain rescue doctor for Longtown MRT, and also an expedition doctor and has worked on expeditions on tall ships, in the Canadian Yukon, Kilimanjaro and Everest base camp. She has previously worked in North Wales, where she was an EPIC fellow with experience in ITU and with Wales Air Ambulance.

Chris is an Emergency Medicine Registrar who is currently completing Paediatric sub-specialty training in Bristol Children’s Hospital. Chris was also a Senior Clinical Fellow in Global Health in the Bristol Royal Infirmary where he spent 2 months with Dharura: Global Emergency Care supporting health partnerships in Kenya. He has completed Diplomas in Medicine in Conflict and Catastrophe, Expedition and Wilderness Medicine and Immediate Medical Care.
Through his work with Endeavour Chris has taught on Remote & Restorative Medicine and Remote Medical Responder courses and is supporting juniors through the Endeavour Fellow Mentor programme.

International Mountain Leader
Vron originally qualified as a Physiotherapist working in the UK and abroad before going on to complete an MSc and PhD in Medical Science and moving into Higher Education, where she worked for 20+ years, most recently as Head of Postgraduate Medical Education at Peninsula Medical School, University of Plymouth.
As a qualified International Mountain Leader (IML), she loves spending time in the mountains and has completed several long-distance walks independently in the Alps, Pyrenees, and Himalayas, and most recently a Polar Expedition in Northern Norway. She has also travelled extensively in Southeast Asia, Nepal, Australia and New Zealand and has spent some time in Kenya supporting Team Talk, an Endeavour Global Health project using Tag Rugby to deliver health messages in local remote schools.
In addition to her love of the mountains, Vron is also a keen trail runner and has completed numerous mountain marathons in The Lakes, Scotland, and North Wales, many with her children. She has also completed several cycling tours, such as the NC500, Grand Traverse of the Alps, the Pyrenees, Picos de Europa and Dolomites.
Most recently, Vron has worked as a mountain leader on expedition with the British Exploring Society BES, spending a month in Scotland in 2023 and the High Caucasus Mountains in Georgia in 2024 on the Pinnacle Wild Leadership programme, where she supported groups of Young Explorers develop their knowledge, skills, leadership and resilience through spending extended periods of time in the mountains.

Rachel joined the Endeavour team in March 2024, supporting all things administration! Living in North Devon by the coast, Rachel has a passion for being outdoors and loves nothing more than walking her two springer spaniels on the moors and local beaches.
Alongside working with Endeavour, Rachel manages a busy private medical practice, dealing with all things administration and governance and was absolutely delighted to join the Endeavour team with such inspiring individuals!

Beyond her clinical training she is passionate about sharing her experiences and knowledge as a medical content creator. Showing her journey through graduate entry medicine, foundation training and now starting her emergency medicine career. Through engaging, real-life content, she shares the highs and lows of a medical career, inspiring others to chase their professional goals while maintaining a personal life and work life balance. Her ultimate aim is to blend her medical career with a love for the outdoors
She has recently returned from walking the Cleveland Way and loves long distance walks and exploring in the UK and abroad.
She attended 2 course with Endeavour last year and is enjoying putting her social media skills to use helping to spread the word of Endeavour's work.

Kelechi leads Health Programmes Development in Shell plc – focusing on organisational, people, and community wellbeing in the energy transition.
He earned a medical degree in Nigeria in 1999, practiced in general medicine and infectious diseases and then completed studies in Tropical Medicine & International Health, Public Health & Global Health with Distinctions first at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (2004) and then University of Oxford (2007). His 2011 University of Oxford PhD, a multicentre global study, led to highly cited publications, with his main paper recognised by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine as one of its 25 most influential in 75 years.
For nearly 20 years, Kelechi has held senior Public Health roles in the NHS, Local Government, and private sector, alongside honorary professorships at Plymouth (2015-2022) and Cardiff (since 2021) Universities. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
His academic profile includes an h-index of 22 (17 since 2020) and 5517 total citations (2451 since 2020), as detailed on his Google Scholar Profile.
Before Shell (December 2022), Kelechi was Executive Director of Public Health and Lead for Research & Development, Value-Based Health and Innovation at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (November 2016 onwards). He pioneered integrated population data use to tackle health inequalities, fostering a system-wide approach to population health and securing a significant NIHR Health Determinants Research Collaborative award.

Dr Beth Newstead has been a consultant in Emergency Medicine at University Hospital, Plymouth for just over 10 years. During this time, she had had a number of roles including Training Programme Director for the Peninsula Deanery. She was the Service Line Director for the Emergency Department (ED) 2020-2023 during which time she had to manage the Covid-19 pandemic, a very challenged ED and some inherent cultural problems within the organisation.
Following ‘retirement’ from her role as SLD she has taken on new challenges and is now a medical examiner for the Trust. Beth has also done a diploma in Lifestyle Medicine which looks at the best available science we have on nutrition, physical activity, stress management and sleep optimisation. She has also studied the psychology of making change and has done additional training in coaching and motivational interviewing. University Hospital Plymouth currently employ her to deliver Lifestyle Medicine to staff within the organisation. This takes the form of one-to-one coaching, educational talks and workshops, group sessions and free on-line videos.

Lucy is a foundation doctor in Cornwall and has a keen interest in emergency & expedition medicine, having completed an intercalation in urgent & emergency care in Glasgow. Her most interesting first aid experiences have been whilst working as an event medic at festivals across UK.
She holds a mountain leader qualification and is a keen climber & trail runner. Whilst on the coast, she pursues swimming, surfing, sailing, kayaking & triathlon and volunteers as a lifeboat crew member.
Spanish language skills led Lucy to pursue several expeditions in central & South America; highlights inc coast to coast trek in Costa Rica and a community focussed trek through Andes. Lucy is keen to promote sustainable expeditions with a positive impact for local communities.

Caitlin is a Foundation Year 2 doctor based in Cornwall, with a passion for expedition and emergency medicine. A graduate of Bristol University, she was an active member of the Bristol Wilderness Medical Society, where she organized climbing trips across the Southwest. During her studies, she developed a love for outdoor pursuits such as climbing, trail running, and cycling. She also earned a BSc in Urgent and Emergency Care in Truro, all while honing her surfing and spearfishing skills.
Spanish skills led her to spend three months in Peru, where she combined her love of adventure with volunteering at a remote clinic in the Amazon and mountaineering in the Andes. Her dedication to global equity, sustainability, and inclusion is central to her career and personal life.
Before starting her medical career, Caitlin worked as an RNLI beach lifeguard for six summers in South Wales and Cornwall. Now back in Cornwall for her foundation training, she can often be found sailing with friends, surfing, climbing, and running in her free time. This year, she plans to complete her Summer Mountain Leader qualification and continue developing her sailing skills.
Caitlin’s current focus is on producing a field manual for wilderness and expedition medicine and participating in marine medicine courses.

Vicki is a GP and Speciality Doctor in Emergency Medicine who specialises in climbing. She has been the medic on expeditions across the globe, including the High Atlas Mountains, the Himalayas, an ultra-marathon in the Namib Desert and multi-day alpine expeditions in British Columbia. She holds the UIAA Diploma in Mountain Medicine and has taught Wilderness Medicine in Canada.
She splits her time between the sea-cliffs of Dorset and the mountains of British Columbia, Canada. When not working or teaching, she’s usually on a rock or ice-face or out on her snowboard/bike/paddleboard.

Georgina is an Emergency Medicine ST1 based in South Yorkshire.
She is due to complete the Diploma in Mountain Medicine this year, hoping to put her skills into practise with the ambitions of become an Expedition Doctor. She also volunteers on remote ultramarathon events, taking her all over the UK and even once to Iceland.
With the peak district on her doorstep, a natural love of climbing, running and cycling has developed. Despite nursing an ACL injury this year, has continued to find little adventure in the form of some very cold dips.
Georgina's goal with Endeavour is to contribute to research in the field of remote medicine, and help set up the Wilderness First Responder course.

Lara is an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Emergency Medicine with 9 years experience in the ED. She started her journey in the NHS as nurse and concluded her MSc in ACP in 2022.
Lara has always been interested in expedition medicine and humanitarian medicine. She pursued this by completing a PGC in Extreme Medicine and by working for several months in a remote part of Central America.
She has also collaborated with teaching and development of nursing programmes in Nepal.
In her spare time she works as a nurse for U.K. based events such as ultra marathons, hikes and festivals.
Due to her passion for humanitarian medicine she is registered with the UK Med EMT team and is hoping to be deployed soon where there is most need.
Lara has a passion for Freediving and is hoping to continue her journey to become a Freediving instructor. She enjoys spending time outdoors; hiking, trekking and skiing.

Jake currently works as a Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine in Cornwall, with a special interest in Expedition Medicine.
As an experienced sailor, Jake spends much of his time exploring the Cornish coast and is working to combine his maritime interests with his medical career. He recently served as first mate and medic on a sailing expedition through the Hebrides and holds an International Certificate of Competency for sailing vessels, as well as Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification. Having volunteered with the Antigua and Barbuda Search and Rescue Service, he is well placed to help teach and organise our Marine Wilderness First Responder Course.
Jake also has a strong interest in ophthalmology and global health. His work with the Arclight Project, a global initiative to improve access to eye care, focuses on developing, promoting, and delivering training for their innovative low-cost pocket ophthalmoscope in low-resource settings.
Outside of medicine, Jake is a very keen outdoor enthusiast with a love for fishing, free-diving, kayaking, skiing, climbing, and outdoor cooking. He has cycle-toured through Romania, the Hebrides, and Cornwall, and is currently planning his next adventure - this time by kayak.

Meghan is a FY6 from the Lake District, currently living and working in Reading as a clinical teaching follow in intensive care.
She completed a medical degree at Lancaster University and an intercalated degree in Urgent and Emergency Care at Plymouth University. Since completing her foundation training in Edinburgh, she has tried to see as much of the world as possible, whilst still using her medical degree. This has led her to work in Costa Rica, New Zealand and most recently Panama, where she discovered a passion for humanitarian medicine whilst working with Floating Doctors for six months.
Her biggest ambition is to work in Antarctica with the British Antarctic Survey, a dream which is on hold for the next year, whilst she recovers from a torn ACL. Fingers crossed for 2027!
Since starting her fellowship with Endeavour Medical, Meghan has been involved in helping to develop the new field guide and taught on several courses.

Callum is an F4 doctor splitting his time between Bristol and Buckinghamshire, working as a Locum and Academic Teaching Fellow. As an Endeavour Fellow, he hopes to contribute to developing Education Hub resources and help deliver the organisations expedition medicine courses.
He graduated from the University of Oxford, where he intercalated in Infection and Immunity and developed a passionate interest in Global Health and Expedition Medicine. Highlight experiences include a solo four-week trek along Norway’s E1 Trail, an elective at the Hands on Care HIV Clinic in The Gambia, and co-leading a Bristol University expedition medicine course including an ascent of Jebel Toubkal in the Atlas Mountains.
Callum currently teaches undergraduate medicine at the University of Buckingham and recently designed and delivered a new Global Health module for Bristol University. He is completing a PGCert in Medical Education while preparing for upcoming specialty applications.
Away from work, Callum is most often found running, hiking, or travelling.

Arthur is a resident doctor, University of Exeter Clinical Skills Tutor, and RNLI boat crew volunteer in Cornwall.
He has a passion for sustainability in healthcare and expedition. He co-founded Cardiff university sustainability in healthcare society and founder of Green RCHT clinical network.
He also is passionate about medical education. He is hoping to become a Fellow of the Academy of Higher Education this year. He has been teaching students at the university of Exeter now for 2 years.
He has been RNLI crew in St Agnes Lifeboat Station (ILB) for 3 years and now manages the medical kit on station. He also runs casualty care simulations for fellow crew. This experience along with his recent RYA Day Skipper qualification make him well suited to teach in marine environments. He also has provided medical cover at Al-Andalus ultramarathon in the Andalusian mountains.
A serial hobbiest, Arthur spends a lot of time cooking, baking, making pottery, building furniture from wood and converting his van.

Munro has a keen interest in global health, working for the Icelandic Red Cross for a year supporting the integration of refugees into Iceland through the UN resettlement programme. In addition to that, he has lived in Zambia, Gambia, and Japan, working in rural and low resource settings in a medical capacity. Having completed several personal expeditions, including cycling the length of Madagascar and crossing the interior of Iceland by foot, he has more recently entered the world of expedition medicine. Through this he has supported teams up Kilimanjaro and Toubkal.

Dr Louise is a GP trainee based in Cornwall and is interested in people, health and travel and is thrilled to be an endeavour fellow. She is excited to learn, as well as teach new skills outside of her usual role in general practice.
So far, with Endeavour she has taught on the wilderness first responder course and been involved in teaching BLS to local schools.
At the beginning of her specialty career, she is aiming to carve an exciting and varied future within this amazing and diverse profession and grasp the great opportunities it has to offer.
In her spare time, she is keen runner and tries to keep fit by running off cream teas along the Cornish coastlines! This year she is also learning fly a light aircraft and hopes to take to the skies for more adventures very soon!

Samad is a general practice specialty registrar in the North East of England. He has recently returned from the United States, where he was a Knox Fellow at Harvard University, studying Global Health on a full scholarship. His time at Harvard led to opportunities working in New York with the United Nations and the International Rescue Committee, experiences that deepened his commitment to combining medicine, global health, and humanitarian work.
Alongside his clinical work, he serves as a Senior Medical Leader with the British Exploring Society, providing medical leadership on remote expeditions and mentoring young people in challenging environments. Samad has broad experience in expedition, endurance, and wilderness medicine, including delivering medical support for ultramarathons and sporting events worldwide, and working with teams operating in remote and high-performance settings.
Samad is also a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, reflecting his commitment to exploration, field-based practice, and geographic health contexts. He is passionate about the role of movement, environment, and adventure in health and wellbeing, and is committed to continuing to develop his skills through his fellowship with Endeavour Medical.

Katie is an F2 doctor working in Cornwall. She trained in Southampton and was a member of her Wilderness and Expedition Society, where she first developed her love for combining medicine with being outdoors. She also set up a refugee society whilst there, as part of STAR National network, and has a keen interest in refugee access to healthcare.
She has spent time in Antigua working with the marine search and rescue team, which provided medical cover for the sailing events, as well as working on land in the medical centre for local Antiguans to access healthcare.
In her spare time she loves making the most of being in Cornwall, swimming and adventuring in her campervan.
Her long term goal is to become a GP with expedition work alongside. In the meantime, she is hoping to move to New Zealand at the end of foundation training as well as taking part in more expeditions to continue to build experience.
Katie’s current focus is on helping to produce the e-learning resource for wilderness first responder candidates as well as teaching on these courses.

Persia Bowater has been studying for the International Diploma in Expedition and Wilderness Medicine with the Glasgow Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Whilst at Newcastle University, Persia was a committee member for the wilderness medicine society, which included helping to organise the Northern Wild Trials, where university teams from across Northern England come together in the Lake District to share knowledge of wilderness medicine through scenario based teaching.
She has completed an intercalated Masters of Research in Global Health, and spent part of her elective conducting health improvement research for a Zanzibar based charity.
In her spare time, she is happiest up a hill, and is a keen runner, hiker, skier, climber, wild swimmer, and general aspiring wilderness explorer.

Claire is an F3 Doctor currently based in London.
She has an extensive academic background, having studied undergraduate Biochemistry before completing a PhD in Molecular Neurology, both at University College London, and then going on to study Medicine as a graduate in Southampton. Along the way she has dedicated a lot of time to, and remains extremely passionate about, scientific research, particularly in the field of Neurology.
Meanwhile, her love for exploring the outdoors has led to multiple adventures including climbing an active volcano in Guatemala and many many skiing trips across the US, Canada and Europe. She also has a love for endurance sport, completing several ultramarathons and road cycling trips, as well as work as an event medic.
Long-term she strives to combine a career in the NHS with her love of adventure and extreme environments, thus she is currently taking some time out of training to gain further experience in expedition medicine and global health and has just returned from an epic adventure in Argentina!

Alice is an F2 doctor in Devon with a love of all things emergency medicine.
She trained in Manchester where she was an active member of the Wilderness and Emergency Medicine Societies, and she also holds an intercalated degree in Urgent & Emergency Care from the University of Plymouth. She is passionate about reducing health inequality, emergency care for vulnerable groups (particularly trans patients), and public education surrounding emergency and lifesaving care.
Alice has worked as an event medic covering festivals, tv broadcasts, international sporting events and stadium tours. She now volunteers teaching CPR and basic first aid to schools, scout groups, search & rescue organisations and students, and is training to be an ALS instructor. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, horse riding, scuba diving, and is currently training for the 2024 London Marathon.
Her goal is to combine an emergency medicine career with expedition and event medicine, as well as to continue her love affair with warm water diving and underwater photography.

Alex is a Military FY2 with a penchant for mountainous areas and difficult conditions. During her degree she completed a BSc in Pre-Hospital Medicine with the London Air Ambulance. She now works at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth but is gearing up to head off to Army training later this year.
Her love of mountains has taken her on expeditions to the Indian Himalayas and a Honduran Cloud Forest. She has spent time rock climbing all around the world; from hot Sicilian crags to freezing Scottish ice. She organised and led an expedition hiking in the Alps at university.
As a medical student, Alex spent 4 weeks at a mission hospital in remote Uganda. She has spent time in a hospital in Bulgaria, and a week in Japan learning about Disaster Medicine. She has visited remote communities in India and Ethiopia, and she shares Endeavour’s passion for global equity, sustainability and inclusion.

Emily is an FY4 locum doctor currently in acute medicine and A&E in Manchester. She loves being in nature, particularly wild swimming. Emily has done a couple of long distance hikes including the Laugeveger in Iceland, and the West Highland way in Scotland. One of her goals for the next few years is to cycle the Hebridean Way!
She is currently completing her yoga teacher training and recently did a summer school in herbal medicine, which sparked an interest in medicinal plants and foraging. Before starting medical school she also did a summer school at the University of Groningen in Global Health. She hopes to combine her interests in a way which will benefit the world.
Emily has lots of experience in teaching, education and mentoring. She worked as a student ambassador at medical school, and had a particular interest in widening participation.
Emily is a big advocate for treating the whole person rather than seeing them as a list of symptoms to be got rid of, and believes that being in nature and exploring the world is an important element of this.

Aaron is an FY1 doctor based in Surrey with a passion for the outdoors and adventure. A triathlon enthusiast, he is currently training for an Ironman and hopes to tackle the Marathon des Sables while raising funds for Great Ormond Street Charity. His love for exploration has taken him around the world, including climbing Mount Kinabalu (4095m) in Malaysian Borneo.
Born in Sri Lanka, Aaron completed his elective in a bustling accident and emergency department in Colombo. This experience ignited his passion for prehospital care and solidified his desire to work in challenging environments. He also pursued a master’s in sports and exercise medicine at Leeds University, allowing him to delve into the physical and mental limits of human performance while working with elite athletes.
In the future, Aaron aspires to merge his interests in sports and expedition medicine within a prehospital setting.
